100 Oaks Revival Interview
Shonali Bhowmik has spent years in New York’s music and comedy scenes. I caught up to her to talk about her new album, the benefits of the internet to the music industry and being a Southern Belle in New York City…
Business
Gallery Bar
The LES art space and lounge was recently shut down under the Nuisance Abatement laws, but a legal settlement has reopened the doors for now.
Lavo
Lavo has been one of the toughest doors since it opened last year. The lines have been so long that the operators are planning to expand the venue just to give people a place to wait while they try to get in. How much do you want to bet the line to the ‘pre-club’ room will be just as long as the line to get into the club now?
Groupon
Fans of the popular discount service might find their bar and restaurant deals curtailed if the State Liquor Authority decides to investigate them. But since this opinion comes from a groupon rival, it might be less about legal prohibitions and more about subversive competition.
Have fun.
